Meet the team
Magnifique Couleur is created by a group of fabulous women from all over the world, bound by a passion for fashion, creativity and New York City. This team combines backgrounds in fashion, sustainability, marketing and business to bring colorful sets of art to life while focusing through a local and circular lens to the fashion industry.
Isabella Hummel
Founder and Creative Director
Driven by a lifelong goal to design fashion and her love for New York City, Isabella moved from Amsterdam, the Netherlands, to New York to launch Magnifique Couleur, which is a love letter to the city she adores. She uses inspiration from her strolls through the boroughs and travels around the world to design and create garments celebrating life, people and color. Leveraging her Masters in Sustainable Fashion and her experience in the New York fashion world, Isabella aims to be a force for good in her community and industry.

By keeping production as local as possible, we enable ourselves to keep full control over our sourcing, manufacturing and distribution, which allows our customers to hold us accountable. While we are a team of perfectionists, we understand that we will make mistakes and fall short of our ideals on occasion.

A COLLABORATION FOR THE FUTURE OF ZERO WASTE DESIGN
For our first collection, Magnifique Couleur partnered with SXD to leverage their design-tech software to limit fabric and water waste in our designs.
A COLLABORATION TO CELEBRATE LOCAL TALENT
Magnifique Couleur’s sets are produced in Industry City, Brooklyn, by Morteza Saifi and his team of the city’s finest tailors. Next to his meticulous eye for beauty and detail, Morteza commits to ensuring a clean and safe environment and fair wages for his workers.
A COLLABORATION TO SUPPORT FABULOUS WOMEN IN SUSTAINABLE FASHION
We partner with Custom Collaborative to offer our customers wonderful recycled dust bags to keep our signature item—the headband—safe and beautiful; it celebrates everything that Magnifique Couleur stands for. This organization trains, mentors and advocates for and with no/low-income and immigrant women to build the skills necessary to achieve economic success in the sustainable-fashion industry and broader society.
A COLLABORATION FOR A TRANSPARENT AND TRUSTWORTHY SUPPLY CHAIN
Pursuing our transparency commitments, Magnifique Couleur partners with Endstate to start building a platform allowing our customers access to the details of our supply chain and to build a community, which aims to help the brand to improve and deliver on its promises.
A COLLABORATION FOR CLEANING YOUR GARMENTS CAREFULLY
If necessary, please use eco-friendly dry clean only. For our New York customers, we offer a 20% discount on our Magnifique Couleur items for dry cleaning in collaboration with ByNext, a leader in sustainable garment care, which exclusively uses Green Earth Cleaning, which is safe for the environment, eliminates harmful chemicals from the dry cleaning process, extends a garments life cycle, and keeps colors staying bright
A COLLABORATION TO BUTTON UP FOR THE NEXT CENTURY
Honoring the long history of New York City’s garment industry, Magnifique Couleur partners with the wonderful team of Remco Buttons, a local button manufacturer for over 100 years in the heart of Manhattan. All our buttons are made from fabric scraps to further limit waste.
